Urodził się w 1981 roku w Lublinie.
Artysta tworzy rzeźby, obiekty, instalacje i rysunki. Jest absolwentem Wydziału Rzeźby Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie (dyplom w 2006), doktorem sztuk pięknych (2013). Był stypendystą w pracowni Christiana Jankowskiego na Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste w Stuttgarcie (2005) oraz Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego (2009, 2018,2020). Swoje dzieła prezentował w ramach dziesięciu wystaw indywidualnych, między innymi w Galerii LeGuern, Galerii Studio, Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej w Warszawie, uczestniczył w kilkudziesięciu pokazach zbiorowych i projektach w Polsce, Niemczech, Holandii, USA, Rosji, na Litwie, Ukrainie, Bangladeszu i Indiach, w tym New Museum New York, KunstMuseum Stuttgart, Nathional Art Gallery Dhaka. Krzysztof Franaszek współpracuje z Galerią LeGuern w Warszawie.
W swoich pracach nieustannie poszukuje nowych środków wyrazu. Pracując w metalach, drewnie, tworzywach sztucznych, za pomocą druku 3D i z użyciem instalacji elektrycznych i świetlnych scala bogate formy wizualne za pomocą idei i symbolu. Tematyka Ludzkiej natury i emocjonalności, nawiązująca do sposobów funkcjonowania w przestrzeni społecznej i miejskiej znajduje odzwierciedlenie w sztuce Franaszka w postaci klarownych form abstrakcyjnych, totemów i instalacji. Badanie sił twórczych i destrukcyjnych jako dwóch równorzędnych energii sprawczych odbywa się w postaci cyków artystycznych, gdzie dzieło sztuki zmienia się i ewoluuje.
Od 2006 pracuje na stanowisku adiunkta w Pracowni Rzeźby na Wydziale Architektury Wnętrz Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie. Od 2013 jest samodzielnym wykładowcą i promotorem prac dyplomowych w WIT Wyższej Szkole Informatyki Stosowanej i Zarządzania na kierunku Grafika. W 2020 roku realizuje projekt współpracy międzynarodowej uczelni artystycznych w ramach programu NAWA ‘Katamaran’.

The artist creates sculptures, objects, installations and drawings. He graduate Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma in 2006), a Phd of fine arts (2013). He was a scholarship holder in the studio of Christian Jankowski at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart (2005) and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2009, 2018, 2020). He presented his works at ten individual exhibitions, among others at Galeria LeGuern, Galeria Studio, Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, he participated in several dozen group shows and projects in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, USA, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bangladesh and India, including New Museum New York, KunstMuseum Stuttgart, Nathional Art Gallery Dhaka. Krzysztof Franaszek cooperates with Galeria LeGuern in Warsaw.
Continuously on the lookout for new means of expression in his oeuvre. Working with metal, wood, and plastics, merges opulent visual forms with ideas and symbols, using 3D printing and electrical and illumination installations. In Franaszek’s work, the theme of human nature and emotionality – alluding to ways of functioning in public and urban space – has morphed into clear abstract forms, totems, and installations. The exploring of creative and destructive forces as two equivalent causative energies takes on the form of artistic series, wherein the artwork changes and evolves.
Since 2006, he has been working as an adjunct in the Sculpture Studio at the Faculty of Interior Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 2013, he has been an independent lecturer and promoter of diploma theses at the WIT School of Applied Computer Science and Management in the field of Graphics. In 2020, he implements a project of international cooperation of artistic universities under the NAWA 'Katamaran’ program.
