Zofia Kubicka jest performerką, autorką projektów edukacyjnych, współtworzącą Fundację Otwarta Pracownia Twórcza, jednak przede wszystkim rzeźbiarką, w której twórczości odnajdujemy nie tylko tę wrażliwość, ale także niezwykłe pokłady subtelności, a nawet liryki. Autorka urodziła się w połowie lat 60-tych w Gołdapii we wschodniej Polsce. W 1994 ukończyła studia w pracowni rzeźby prof. Jana Kucza na Warszawskiej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych. Tworzy zarówno małe formy rzeźbiarskie, jak i rzeźby ogrodowe ( te znajdują się m. in. w Zespole Pałacowo-Parkowym w Lesznie).
Jej prace znajdują się przeważnie w prywatnych kolekcjach na całym świecie (Polska, Hiszpania, USA, Włochy, Anglia).
Artystka często sięga po mocno sfeminizowane tematy, takie jak macierzyństwo, intymność. Ma rzadką zdolność uchwycenia archetypów kobiecości poprzez pryzmat codzienności. Zdarza się, iż widz, w stworzonych przez artystkę, życiowo nieidealnych formach kobiecego ciała, odnajduje siebie. Dowodzi to niezwykłego talentu autorki.
Oglądając jej dzieła, nie sposób przeoczyć pewnych “wibracji” między dziełem a przestrzenią, w której się znajduje. Miękkość i delikatność artystycznego języka artystki, tworzenia struktur rzeźbiarskich, jest naznaczona osobistymi doświadczeniami. Nie tworzy realistycznych dzieł, ale iluzję. Widz ma wrażenie kontaktu z energią egzystencji. W swoich pracach odkrywa rzeczywistość subtelnych wyobrażeń na podstawie oszczędnej gestykulacji przedstawionych postaci i rzeźbiarskich sytuacji.
Zofia Kubicka wyraża swoją wrażliwość przy pomocy wielu materiałów, jej ulubionym jest jednak brąz; ze względu zarówno na trwałość jak i na swego rodzaju nieuchwytne ciepło jakim emanuje.
Zofia Kubicka is a performer, author of educational projects, co-founder of the Otwarta Pracownia Twórcza Foundation, but above all a sculptor, in whose work we find not only this sensitivity, but also extraordinary amounts of subtlety and even poetry. The author was born in Gołdap (East Poland) in the mid-1960s. In 1994 she completed her studies in the sculpture studio of Prof. Jan Kucz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She creates both small sculptural forms and garden sculptures (these can be found in the castle and park complex in Leszno).
Her works are mostly in private collections all over the world (Poland, Spain, USA, Italy, England).
Zofia Kubicka often takes up strongly feminized themes such as motherhood and intimacy. She has the rare ability to grasp the archetypes of the feminine through the prism of the everyday. It happens that the viewers find themselves in the vitally unideal forms of the female body created by the artist. This proves the exceptional talent of the author.
When looking at her works, it is impossible to overlook certain “vibrations” between the work and the space in which she is located. The softness and delicacy of the artist’s artistic language, the creation of sculptural structures, is marked by personal experiences. She does not create realistic works, but an illusion. The viewer feels connected to the energy of existence. In her works, she discovers the reality of subtle ideas through the economical gestures of the depicted figures and sculptural situations.
Zofia Kubicka expresses her sensitivity with many materials, but her favorite is bronze; both because of its durability and because of the kind of elusive warmth it emits.
